Kingston UCU branch meeting to discuss the results of the Four Fights ballot on industrial action over pay deflation, pay inequality, unsafe workloads and casualisation.

With a turnout of 60%, and 70% voting in favour of strike action and 92% in favour of action short of a strike, we have passed the minimum legal threshold and have a mandate for action. We need to discuss what form nationally coordinated action should take, and whether there should be a new aggregated ballot of all branches in the spring – our feedback will be taken to a delegates meeting before the Higher Education Committee meets on Friday 12th November.
